Sean

Sean MacDonald

Position: PhD Candidate

 Email: 12SM59@queensu.ca

Sean was born and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. He obtained his BSc hon in Chemistry from the University of Alberta. He joined in our group in Aug. 2012. His research focuses on the synthesis and properties of N-heterocyclic carbine derived BN-heterocycles, including photo and thermal reactivity of BN-arenes, as well as novel coordination chemistry and reactivity of organometallic systems

Soren

Soren Mellerup

Position: PhD Candidate

Email: soren.mellerup@chem.queensu.ca

Soren is from Thunder Bay, ON where he was born and raised through -50 oC winters. He obtained his H.B.Sc in Chemistry from Lakehead University, where he was trained as a theoretical/physical chemist. Upon joining the group in August of 2013, he began his journey through the wonderful world of synthesis. He is currently interested in the development and creation of photochromic organoboron-based systems with potential applications in memory devices and/or molecular switches, although he will always have a soft spot for computational chemistry.
